COMPOSITES

BEACH BARRIER

After a storm, sand hills shift to expose the steel underpinning of beach houses on Long Island shore. The steel quickly rusts in the salt air and takes on different textures according to the time of day. Four printed metal panels combine here to form a single image.

STARBURST

A favorite of mine, this triptych has been melded into a single image of a seascape wall found on the glassblowing island of Murano in the Venetian lagoon.

BLUE GAS STATION

I discovered a small gas station in upstate New York covered in metal strips. Its sky blue color amazed me but so did the oil spilling discretely down its sides.

QUESTION MARK

Everywhere the sly question: is this art? The ugly beauty of urban life is summed up
for me in the mysterious orange and yellow markings on the streets of New York.

BLUE WALL

This large abstract composition of nine separate images was inspired by a long sea wall on the coast of Mexico that seemed like a poetic reflection of both the sea and the sky surrounding it.

PATCHWORK QUILT

Italy, Mexico, Bahamas - color everywhere.

BONES

Discovered in Hudson, New York, the most astonishing set of painted lines I ever saw on a road.
